Student Essay / Video Contest

Foundation masthead 2011

Tired of shrinking budgets limiting your professional development and that of your students? The Irrigation Foundation is proud to present an opportunity where you won't need a school grant to attend...

Your student - and YOU - could be awarded an all-expenses-paid trip to the 2011 Irrigation Show with a winning essay or video.

For the eighth consecutive year, the Irrigation Foundation is sponsoring an essay/video contest for college and technical school students interested in the green industry.

Encourage your students to craft a 1,500-1,800 word essay or a three- to five-minute video on this topic: How will irrigation careers be affected by limited water supplies in the future. Winners receive a trip valued at over $2,500 and an invaluable opportunity.

If your student is selected as a winner, you'll both receive a free trip to the show, Nov. 6-8 in San Diego. The Foundation will cover the costs of airfare, airport transfers, housing, educational classes, exposition registration and even a meals stipend.

The Irrigation Show is a unique event where you and your student will:

  • Network with industry leaders

  • Gain access to information and technologies not available in your local community.

  • Discuss the field with industry professionals.

  • Compare educational experiences with other instructors.

  • Earn bragging rights for your educational institution.
